Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Strategy

The Pupil Premium is funding given to schools for children from low-income families who are known to be eligible for free school meals, and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. Pupil Premium funding was introduced in September 2011. It comes from outside the school’s budget and is a separate specific grant.

Pupil Premium was extended for 2012–13 to pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Schools can choose how to spend the Pupil Premium. However, they are accountable for how they use the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families and the other target groups. New measures have been included in the performance tables that show the achievement of pupils who attract the Pupil Premium.

If you require a detailed breakdown of how each of the projects is funded or would like to know in detail the type of support your child is receiving, please contact the school office.
