Local Governing Body
The Local Governing Body (LGB) is made up of volunteers who commit their time to work alongside the leadership team of the school to play an important part in raising school standards.
The Chair of Governors at Heatherbrook Primary Academy is Rachel Barker.
The LGB has a strong focus on three core strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the principal to account for the educational performance of the academy and its pupils; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the academy and making sure its money is well spent.
The LGB meets regularly to meet these functions and other responsibilities. The governors also visit the school to ensure they understand what is happening and to monitor and evaluate the impact of actions. Governors can be contacted through the school.
At Heatherbrook Primary Academy we have a Governing Board who take a great interest in the school and who take on areas of particular interest.
